Steve Conrow, Trumpet, has been an active performer, teacher and coach in and around the Portland Oregon area since 1984.
As a performer, Steve has held positions as principal trumpet with La Filharmonica Del Bajio in Guanajuato, Mexico and principal trumpet with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the New Mexico Symphony, Santa Fe Symphony, and Santa Fe Pro Musica. In Oregon, Steve can be heard performing often with the Oregon Symphony both live and on many recordings, the Oregon Ballet Theater, and the Portland Opera. As a Portland area freelancer, he can be seen at many churches, weddings, festivals and even with some popular groups such as Mannheim Steamroller or Belle and Sebastian.
While holding degrees from Portland State University and University of New Mexico, Steve has also participated in numerous master classes, coaching sessions, and private lessons with many of the great trumpet performers and teachers in the country. He is currently on the teaching faculty at Portland State University and Pacific University (Forest Grove, Oregon) and has a robust private teaching studio including students from the age of 10 to 85. As a much in demand trumpet and brass section coach, Steve has worked with many of the local schools as well as the Portland Youth Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony. He has also been a faculty artist at the brass at Wallowa Lake music camp since 2001.
When not living the trumpet life, Steve relishes his time with his wife Kim, prince of poodles ZuZu, and a fist full of grandchildren.
